The following improvements are being proposed within Segment 3:

• Future Transportation Corridor
• Modify I-35 ramps
• Modify I-35 intersections
• Add collector-distributor roads
• Implement Texas Super Street concept
• Add Pedestrian-only bridge
• Widen and/or reconstruct bridges
• Widen outside lanes of all I-35 Frontage Roads for bicycles
• Complete sidewalk connections

Proposed improvements for each intersection within Segment 3 include the following:

US 183-US 290

• Northbound and southbound ramp modifications
• Modified direct-connector from I-35N to US 183N
• Bicycle and pedestrian improvements for east-west connectivity

St. Johns Avenue

• New northbound and southbound turnaround lanes
• Pedestrian-only bridge
• Bicycle and pedestrian improvements for east-west connectivity

51st Street

• Intersection improvements at I-35 and 51st Street
  • Option 1: Modified existing intersection
  • Option 2: Roundabouts
• Bicycle and pedestrian improvements for east-west connectivity
