Study Purpose
The purpose of the feasibility study is to identify concepts for improving mobility as well as transit reliability, emergency response times and safety within the I-35 corridor between SH 45SE and Posey Road.

We invite you to give us your input. Please download and review the fact sheet and the exhibts below and provide your input using the comment form at the bottom of the page.

Through exploring the content below, you'll be able to:

  • View information and provide feedback on preliminary improvement concepts
  • Submit comments
  • Identify potential issues or concerns to be addressed as concepts are further refined

All comments must be received by Monday, Oct. 13, 2014 to be included in the official record.

Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) In a continuous flow intersection, vehicles that intend to turn left cross to the left side of the roadway before they enter the intersection at a separate traffic signal. Watch the video to see how it works.

Hays County Feasibility Study Roll Plots

Roll plots are engineering documents designed to show potential improvements along the corridor. Please download the roll plots below to view improvement concepts being considered for I-35 between SH 45SE and Posey Road.

Next Steps
Over the course of the study, a range of concepts will be developed and analyzed that will take into account the needs of drivers, transit riders, bicyclists and pedestrians, as well as surrounding businesses, neighborhoods and the environment. Concepts identified through the feasibility study will be incorporated into the Mobility35 Plan, which will guide the development of projects along the I-35 corridor throughout Hays, Travis and Williamson counties.
With additional public input, completion of the Hays County I-35 Feasibility Study is anticipated by mid-2015.
